 cism against Asian Americans" Though anti-Asian racism has surged since CO
 VID-19\, but racism and violence against Asian Americans have existed long
  before this pandemic.  Chris Chanyasulkit will provide a brief overview 
 of the anti-Asian racism and xenophobia faced by Asian communities and sha
 re ways to be an ally and support the Asian community.   Bio:  Dr. Chri
 s Chanyasulkit holds leadership positions with local\, state\, regional an
 d national governance and civic engagement organizations\, working to prom
 ote racial\, gender\, and health equity. She served as a gubernatorial ap
 pointee to the Massachusetts Asian American Commission and the Commission 
 on the Status of Women where she advocated for the needs of Asian American
 s and Women throughout the Commonwealth.  She also serves as an adjunct A
 ssistant Professor at Temple University\, where she teaches Public Health 
 Advocacy in the College of Public Health and is the Chief Magic Officer & 
 Travel Advisor of Chris Upon A Star Travel\, a travel agency specializing 
 in Disney and Universal destinations.   Chris earned a B.A. in Biology a
 nd Art History from Boston University\, an M.P.H. (with a concentration in
  maternal and child health care) from the Boston University School of Publ
 ic Health\, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Northeastern University\
 , where she conducted research on health disparities.  In addition to her
  advocacy and scholarly pursuits\, Dr. Chanyasulkit is Immediate Past Chai
 r of the Executive Board of the American Public Health Association (APHA)\
 , an elected Library Trustee of the Public Libraries of Brookline\, a Broo
 kline Town Meeting Member\, a Brookline Community Emergency Response Team 
 member\, a Brookline Medical Reserve Corps member\, a Brookline Community 
 Foundation Board Member\, and a Mentor Mom for Beth Israel Deaconess Medic
