Brookline Rotary has committed to pack bags for Brookline Thrives on the fourth Wednesday of every month beginning March 2022. A group of Rotarian volunteers will meet at the Community Room of 226 High Street, Brookline, for an evening of fun and service.  This is a hands-on service project of Brookline Rotary.  Please Register as a volunteer on this page, or contact Phil Sandler.  Proof of vaccination is required by the Food Pantry.

Please note that we need volunteers to Register by May 20 to give the Food Pantry time to collect copies of vaccination records before this service event.

Brookline Thrives is a project of the Brookline Food Pantry to provide food for the weekend for children at risk of food insecurity, to keep them fueled for success in school.

Volunteers pack the bags, which are distributed through the schools and the Brookline Housing Authority properties.

What is in a Thrives bag?

  • Each Thrives bag contains two breakfast items, two lunch items, milk, fruit and snacks.
  • One bag feeds one child.
  • Thrives has a rotating menu, providing a little variety each week.
  • Everything is shelf-stable, single-serve portions. Nothing needs to be refrigerated.
  • Thrives can also accommodate most major food allergies and dietary restrictions.
