A special meeting with the leads for the Clay International Secondary School (CISS), which is the school Brookline Rotary is working with for the Global Grant for clean water. Benson Mutua, the Rotarian and In-Country Director of CISS, is also the immediate past president of the Rotary Club of Emaili, Kenya. Benson along with the principal of CISS will be visiting the USA for this meeting. Bob Wax, the Chair of the non-profit that funds CISS, will be with them. Bob is a former Brookline resident and spoke to our club several years ago about the school and the clean water project.

Brookline Rotary’s Annual Boston Marathon Monday Concession

April 20, 2026 is Marathon Monday! The Brookline Rotary Club will once again host its annual Marathon Monday fundraising event along Beacon Street during the Boston Marathon.

Throughout the day, our team will operate a lively grill station and concession stand, serving race spectators while raising funds to support our community initiatives.

Rotarian volunteers will also walk along the sidewalks with collection canisters, engaging with the crowd and inviting spectators to contribute to this exciting and impactful annual tradition.

Speaker: Marcus Gonyon

Marcus will be speaking on several topics, including the history of Liberia, the Liberian civil war and its effects, and the current state of schools and the challenges they face. He will also discuss the serious challenges in rural Liberia and share information about the Blessing and Faith Foundation.

Rotarians support Brookline Thrives every 3rd or 4th Wednesday evening & on other shifts to help package weekend food for Brookline Public School students facing food scarcity.
