Automotive technology is so advanced that it is impossible to know everything about all cars.  Everything is controlled by computers. There are certifications for mechanics for different functions of cars.  It is necessary to do preventive maintenance and follow the manual recommendations.  If the check engine light comes on, go to a mechanic immediately.
