A free SUMMER EATS breakfast & lunch program is once again being offered children & teens (18 years & under) by the Brookline Food Services Dept. in partnership with Project Bread.

Every Monday through Friday from 10 am to 1 pm, students can come for a free breakfast &/or lunch. The program began June 24th and will continue through August 16th. at the Brookline Ave Playground (575 Brookline Ave). No identification or registration for the youths is required.

Volunteers are needed to provide “enrichment activities” during that 10 am to 1 pm time frame.  You can commit to doing this just one time, or for a whole week, for on a particular day each week, or whatever suits you. Supplies for that day’s activities are provided by the Food Service Dept. unless you prefer to bring an activity of your own.

Brookline Rotary is proud to be a supporter of this worthy program. Sasha Palmer, Director of Food Services, is the contact person. To volunteer, click SummerEatsVolunteer.

FYI: Summer Eats is a federal nutrition program designed to ensure that all youth (18 and under) have access to healthy meals and snacks during the summer, when school is not in session. To learn more, click https://www.projectbread.org/summer-eats-program.
